While Utah is still a barren wasteland, it does seem to have the occasional good sunset.

I can’t leave out the strangeness of hanging out on the roof of some old grain elevators in Dallas that are being turned into apartments. Oh, and there were photos.

The rest of the photos from the Fellow Citizens tour to Texas and back. I learned that touring with a band is the most fun thing you will ever do and that Texas sucks a lot in the summer.

Most previous delays in posts are because I am lazy but I will be attributing the current dearth of online entertainment to me being on tour with Fellow Citizens in Texas. Don’t take it personally, I just don’t like to use a whole lot of internet tethering on my iPhone while on the road without teh internets. I’ll post photos and such later but you can check out my twitter feed for more instant updates.

Last night we had an awesome show at Meow Wolf in Santa Fe New Mexico. Hung out with some really cool people after wards at an apartment over storage units.

Tonight we are in the sweltering paradise of Loo-bock Texas at Bash Riprock’s with Deer Tick and Dawes. I gorged myself on a 16oz steak at The Triple J Chophouse and Brew Co for dinner and am having to roll myself around to get places. Thank god for diligent waitstaff and Shiner Bock beer.

I wanted to know why an Amtrak bus was the only option on a leg back to Denver from Glenwood Springs in July. Here is their email response:

The Union Pacific Railroad will be carrying out extensive track work this summer and fall east of Glenwood Springs.

Trains 5 and 6, the California Zephyr, originating at Chicago and Emeryville on these dates: June 30 – July 8; July 5 – 23; July 31-August 8; August 15 – 23; August 31- September 8 and September 15 – 23 will detour between Denver and Salt Lake City through Wyoming one day later.

Buses will operate only between Denver, Glenwood Springs and Grand Junction, connecting from train 5 (bus 3505) at Denver, and to train 6 (bus 3506) at Denver.  No alternate transportation will be provided to or from Winter Park, Granby, Green River, Helper, or Provo, and there is no connection to or from the train at Salt Lake City.
