Quick Review: Sputnik’s Happy Hour Tacos
May 30th, 2009 by rande

Sputnik just revised their menu and it is pretty awesome. Scott and I tried the tacos off the happy hour menu for something different and they did not disappoint. Both the fish and carnitas tacos are a solid choice and can’t be beat for only $2 each.

weather conspiracy

Kristen and Sara headed to Vegas this weekend so I went down on Friday to drop off copies of my new mix cd. Much fun was had as Kristen tried to ride my bike, I watched her pack in an expert fashion, and then we hit up Wahoo’s Fish Tacos for some dinner.

Mini review: Wahoo’s chicken quesodillas. The quesodillas themselves are rather average but they do include a dish of both sour cream and guacamole which beats Illegal Pete’s one-or-the-other policy. The guacamole is actually pretty good too and tastes homemade.

There is something crazy going on with the weather or it could just be very coincidental, who knows. Last Saturday, I take my bike to Denver and Sara is in or near town = it pours rain. Friday, I take my bike to Denver and Sara is on her way from Glenwood = it pours rain. Extensive testing is needed but I am not sure I am up for a third wet ride to the Market St bus station.

I headed to the venerable Sputnik for a comfortable place to work on the Program Council email servers and then Scott and Ms. Finesilver joined me later and much fun was had. I even got a picture of Scott in a good mood.

The ride to the bus wasn’t quite as soggy this time but the drunks on the 2:20a B were as annoying as ever.

I woke up just in time to catch some excitement at the Broomfield park and ride.

Quick Review: My Brother’s Bar
May 16th, 2009 by rande

No, it’s not MY brother’s bar. The burgers would have been cheaper and the beer faster.

- Great atmosphere, we sat on the patio and it was loud but very party-like
- Really loud patio. Not bad, just strange to have other tables yelling when it is not necessary.
- for the price, the burgers need to come with more than just meat and bun. I am fine paying more for bacon but lettuce and tomato should always be included.
- awesome condiment/meal caddies that come with what appeared to be every order. Like a treasure chest full of onions, pickles, relish, ketchup, and mustard. also an excellent source of napkins and really tiny forks.

overall: 6/10 I enjoyed being there but the food did not fill me up and a beer and burger cost me $12.
